”…if plants were superheroes, then Moringa would be Iron Man”

- Dr. Carrie Waterman, Institute For Global Nutrition, University of California Davis

rooted in purpose

We created the Moringa Health Equity Initiative (MHEI) to be stewards of social equity in health experiences and outcomes. As a company on a mission to empower Black women to live and enjoy longer, healthier, more BEAUTY-full lives, we are committed to advancing Moringa research and promoting the harvest, commercialization and utilization of this “miracle tree” ingredient to drive improved health outcomes.

What we already know

Moringa is a prominent source of nutrients with potential health benefits

HiGH IN

ANTIOXIDANTS

Moringa has a high level of antioxidants and very specific molecules that may help reduce inflammation, which is underlying a lot of chronic health conditions including cancer, obesity, diabetes and malnutrition

RICH IN

PROTEIN

Every part of the plant is edible - leaves, pods, seeds, flowers, even its root. The leaves alone have approximately 27% protein by dry weight, more than legumes and all essential amino acids

essential

vitamins & minerals

Moringa leaves are high in vitamins A and C, calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium and potassium

game-changing

compounds

Moringa seed pods and seeds are a tremendous source of Vitamin C, protein, amino acids, calcium and potassium

LEADING WITH SCIENCE

ADVANCING MORINGA RESEARCH

WonderTree is partnering with leading global nutritional and medical experts to study Moringa as a potential plant-based therapy to support positive health outcomes, especially in underrepresented and underserved communities.

Since 1999, the National Institutes of Health have spent more than $2.4 billion studying vitamins and minerals. Despite the amount of research, scientific evidence isn’t completely clear. Growing interest and evidence in the potential positive health effects of Moringa warrants additional research and evidence-based analysis.

PROMISING POTENTIAL

A growing body of evidence suggests that Moringa (Moringa oleifera) helps fight inflammation, a known contributor to chronic conditions such as cancer, diabetes and obesity. In 2019, The Journal of the American Nutrition Association (formerly The Journal of the American College of Nutrition) published a study demonstrating the potential antihypertensive effects of Moringa Oleifera, including a significant decrease in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, suggesting Moringa Oleifera may be potentially useful as a natural product against the chronic hypertension that plagues the Black community.
